Concrete, Stainless steel
W.190 × D.75 × H.160 / 2kg
The beginning of this heart shaped object, was when Nakayama was approached from a fellow architect to participate in a charity to aid the damages from the Great East Japan Earth Quake. At that time this object was made from improvising with the materials that he found in his office.
A long time has passed since then.
Concrete is used to make strong buildings and cities, but when the earth quake hit us, I had this feeling where I though there is nothing else in the world that is stronger than our hearts.Keeping this same feeling, this object was remade with a slightly softer touch and expression.
Maybe use it as a bookend or a door stopper, or even for your own heart.
It's something that can be used in your daily life when you need a little bit of "weight" to keep things where they are.
